Started in the year 2000, here’s a little bit about what we do now… Find out our story throughout the years here.

Bodytonic Music

Bodytonic Music is where we started and what we use to promote events, ideas & music.

Community

We partner and run various initiatives in our local community with each of our bars. If you are running a charity event in our area, and would like us to donate tickets, or food/drinks vouchers, or use our venue to hold a meeting or a fundraising event please get in touch. We might not be able to honour every request, and its important that it be local to us , but other than that, thats it . Please email us at info@bodytonicmusic.com for all requests.

Greentonic

What’s Greentonic you ask? It’s an extension of Bodytonic which focuses on all aspects of being green/reducing waste/energy efficient/environmentally friendly. We want to reduce our waste, remove single use plastic, be environmentally friendly and overall try to make the world (or our gaff for now) a better place. We got rid of plastic straws and single use plastic cups. We’ve got reusable plastic cups and metal straws for our events, which not only look the business but reduce our plastic waste. We’ve also banned takeaway coffee cups in the office – Keep Cups all round’ baby. We’re also learning day by day, getting things wrong, making mistakes, and trying to make things right. If you have any ideas or see us doing silly things we can easily improve on, please let us know, we’re open to learning and doing as much as we can – info@bodytonicmusic.com

Festivals

In recent years we’ve expanded even more so into the world of festivals, and we now work on a number of them, from The Big Grill & Beatyard , to TippletownRumbullion, Ginfusion, Crisp Fest and Wine & Cheese. Over 50,000 people have attended our festivals in 2018.

Beatyard

The Beatyard festival takes place across a summers weekend, nearly 20,000 people over 3 days in the seaside town of Dùn Laoghaire with the main stage right on the harbour. Previous line ups have included Orbital, the Jacksons, Kamasi Washington, Four Tet, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, MrScruff, Parliament, Snarky Puppy, Roy Ayers, Tensnake, John Talabot, Neneh Cherry, Theo Parrish, Daphni, Little Dragon, Django Django, Kiasmos, Andrew Weatherall and loads more. And that’s not all, you’ll also find an array of games & sports, quizzes, art & design workshops, a flea market and international craft brewers in our Carnivale tent. There’s also talks, chats and sing-alongs in the Banteryard, experiments, explosions and screenings at the Techyard, classic gaming in our Gamesyard, a place to dock the kids in our Studioyard and the tastiest of treats in the Eatyard with Just-Eat.

Eatyard

The Eatyard is our food market space that started out on South Richmond St. Now we’ve moved location along with the The Bernard Shaw to Drumcondra. It’s been 2-4 years in the talking and making, and has grown out of our annual Beatyard & Big Grill festivals, the various flea and car boot sales we’ve hosted as well as numerous trips to destinations like Austin, London, South Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. A mish-mash of all of the above has gotten us to this point. Our aim at Eatyard is to elevate Irish Street Food to a new level and bring a unique casual dining experience to Dublin. We are always looking for innovative & creative food producers, chefs, cooks or vendors who follow the ethos of doing something simple really well.

Markets

The flea markets began out in the beer garden of the old Shaw! Last year we began running a monthly ‘Market Park’ series in Jam Park, our newest venue. Here we showcased Irish design collectives, local artists, house clearances, nail artists, vinyl vendors, vintage clothing, crafts, furniture, jewelery, books, bakers, makers, growers and doers.

Our first market park starts back on Dec 5th, and we’ve already 25+ vendors signed up for it. You can find all the info over here.

The Bernard Shaw

The Shaw was/is our first bar. In existence since 1895, Bodytonic started a new chapter in 2006 and have tried to keep her lit since. The reason its called the Bernard Shaw is that when we took over the bar, it was called the George Bernard Shaw [ he was born nearby on Synge Street], and when we took it over, we had no money, so we kept the sign as was, and shortend the name to ‘The Bernard Shaw’. Why? Why not…

The Shaw has since moved location to Drumcondra, along with Eatyard
