Started in the year 2000, here's our storyWhich takes us up to what we do now...

Bodytonic Music is where we started and what we use to promote events & festivals. Its also a record label for releasing music we love and believe in.

Our home for getting creative with food & drink...

In recent years we've expanded even more so into the world of festivals, and we now work on a number of them, from The Big Grill & Beatyard , to TippletownRumbullion Ginfusion. Over 50,000 people have attended our festivals in 2018 so far.

The Big Grill

Europe's largest fire & smoke food festival, every year we get 20,000 BBQ, beer and bushcraft fans to Dublin's idyllic Herbert Park, Ballsbridge for 4 days & nights every August. Pitmasters from around the world drop in to share their favourite dishes, techniques and flavours from their fire pits. Learn the difference between Asado (South American), Mediterranean, German, Asian, Irish and Southern USA style low ‘n’ slow BBQ methods. whole hogs, lamb on spits, flying chickens, goat, wild Irish game, Southern Style ribs, Asian skewered meats, Brazilian steaks and many more tantalising dishes and displays. Chocablock with alks, demos, music, talks and a great big kiddies area. Awarded Best Food Festival in 2017 by the McKenna Guide.

The Beatyard festival takes place across a summers weekend, nearly 20,000 people over 3 days in the seaside town of Dùn Laoghaire with the main stage right on the harbour. Previous line ups have included Orbital, the Jacksons, Kamasi Washington, Four Tet, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, MrScruff, Parliament, Snarky Puppy, Roy Ayers, Tensnake, John Talabot, Neneh Cherry, Theo Parrish, Daphni, Little Dragon, Django Django, Kiasmos, Andrew Weatherall and loads more. And that’s not all, you'll also find an array of games & sports, quizzes, art & design workshops, a flea market and international craft brewers in our Carnivale tent. There's also talks, chats and sing-alongs in the Banteryard, experiments, explosions and screenings at the Techyard, classic gaming in our Gamesyard, a place to dock the kids in our Studioyard and the tastiest of treats in the Eatyard with Just-Eat.

The Eatyard is a brand new food market space on 9-10 South Richmond St right next door to The Bernard Shaw. It’s been 2-4 years in the talking and making, and has grown out of our annual Beatyard & Big Grill festivals, the various flea and car boot sales we’ve hosted as well as numerous trips to destinations like Austin, London, South Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. A mish-mash of all of the above has gotten us to this point. Our aim at Eatyard is to elevate Irish Street Food to a new level and bring a unique casual dining experience to Dublin. We are looking for innovative & creative food producers, chefs, cooks or vendors who follow the ethos of doing something simple really well.

The flea features rotating vendors on a Saturday from Irish design collectives, local artists, house clearances, nail artists, vinyl vendors, vintage clothing, crafts, furniture, jewelry, books, bakers, makers, growers and doers.

We also have brunch available from the Italian cafe crew, full bar from 1pm and the Big Blue Pizza pizza lads from 3pm serving all manner of tasties to keep you goin’.

The Bernard Shaw

The Bernard Shaw was/is our first bar. In existence since 1895, Bodytonic started a new chapter in 2006 and have tried to keep her lit since. The reason its called the Bernard Shaw is that when we took over the bar, it was called the George Bernard Shaw [ he was born nearby on Synge Street], and when we took it over, we had no money, so we kept the sign as was, and shortend the name to 'The Bernard Shaw'. Why? Why not...
