May as well start a thread for stuff peeps have been watching.

Went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last night.

Quite enjoyed the first one in this series and this was even better. It's got some standard hollywood flaws in it but the good far outweighs the bad. CGI was amazing and added real depth to the film - the characterisation of the apes and the performances were brilliant - cared far more about them than the humans. NIce to see it add it instead of hide a total lack of depth like most blockbuster nonsense does. Serkis is brilliant as the main ape and the action is done really and it trundles along even though there was the odd superflous bit. It's not as dumbed down as most blockbusters too. The Michael Bay's of the world could learn something from it.

Anyone watching ray Donovan ? I'm iffy on it tbh . Some good bits but I'm preferring me sopranos box set at the mo . Not a good sign for ray

I saw Silicon Valley online but watching that again last night . Like it's very niche , but I love it .

been meaning to watch that. Shotgun Stories and Take Shelter from the same director are brilliant.

Rewatching 'Larry Sanders', even better second time around, ranks just behind 'Seinfeld' for me in the ranks of the all-time greats.

Way behind the times and just about to finish 'True Detective'. First couple of episodes promised something truly exceptional but second half hasn't maintained the same standard (although still pretty good).

Surely it can't be Colin Farrell for Season 2??? Poor fucker if it is, the two mains are a horrendouly hard act to follow for anyone but he'd be so out of his depth it's not funny.
