The Beatyard Roll Call

As the master schedule is wiped away from the whiteboard up at HQ...

And the red, blue and yellow bunting is taken down in The Twisted Pepper at 4am on a Sunday night after a packed show for Kolsch, we look back on what made The Beatyard 9 our best yet.

This time around was perhaps our biggest project to date. Overall we worked with over 25 venues and featured over 65 events. Tough work you might say, but we enjoyed every moment of it.

It’s not just the music that fuels us, it’s also the little things and places that we wanted to share with you, from cosy little tea shops like Wall & Keogh, to bustling venues for acts such as Flight Facilities. The city is our beatyard as the motto goes...

Some of the best moments for us included singing along to Jazzy Jeff, dancing ‘til the cows came home, (and then dancing some more) with Bicep, and learning a little about some things we didn't previously know of, from craft brewing, photography, and French food, to even Dublin itself. The likes of We’re Not Leaving, made us feel determined to keep Dublin as our home, and Discotekken even taught us a little bit about the letterpress.

We forged great friendships with some of our favourite new, and existing venues around the city, and even convinced some of you to try out our venues more often.

(we’re glad you changed your mind about the Twisted Pepper Sarah!) Heck we even taxied a few of you around Dublin withUBER…and a kayak, for the laugh.

Perhaps our biggest challenge was to constantly provide you with great deals for those of you who chose to pick up a lanyard… and as one of the people who clipped all 900 of those together I thank you personally!

With the next installment come October we hope to be able to offer you even more stuff, because who doesn’t love stuff? I now use my lanyard as a key chain… and we even came up with a list of other funny things you can use yours for too.

In the meantime, we’re back hard at work up here, after an amazing team lunch over at Damson Diner on Wednesday. (Thanks Trev!) There’s no rest for the wicked. Beatyard will be back in even bigger and better form in October, but for now you can check out our favourite pics from across the two weeks. Don't forget to tag yourself too.

Head the-beatyard.com and add your email address to our mailing list if you fancy helping out or joining the next one.

Next up… Life Festival! See you on the dance/forest floor.
