SXSW Flavours Day 1

We find our rhythm

Day one at SXSW can always be a little overwhelming, coming to grips with the colossal amount of gigs, talks, screenings and general on street action from the fun to the crazy (like we saw a man riding along the tram tracks with two donkeys & potato sack, amongst a load of tatoo'd musos on beach cruisers doing the gig circuits). Here are some little moments we caught while whizzing around yesterday...

Ross from Dublin's Event Junkies went Back to the Future on Monday night...

Director Barbara Kopple introduces her brilliant new movie "Miss Sharon Jones", following her battle with cancer and road to recovering and back onto the touring circuit. It's incredible.

We gave it a 5!

Loved this old USB key dump

Always lots of geek toys at the trade show. Short Circuit's younger brother?

...and this one from a Japanese company, place any fruit or veg on the reader and it will use colour and texture to tell you what it is and how old. Fascinating, but we're not sure we'd really need one in our kitchen any time soon

No more music sheets flailing around and falling onto the floor, this app connects into your piano and follows your notes as you play...

180 degree photo, but the 360 video cameras that are now avail still beat this!

Preacher TV series coming soon, and this great installation to launch it...

Austin is full of gems like this, an on street bike repair station in case you need a quick fix. Although seems like they're missing a pump...

Street artist Dear Ninja has some great pieces around the city...

Some necessary downtime by the Colorado river.
