Turnstiles, a punk band based in Galway, have had a very busy start to the year and we are buzzing for it.
With celebrating their win of the inaugural Star Nation band competition in September, their new single ‘Tantrum‘ and having just been announced for Forbidden Fruit 2020 we are delighted to have them join us in the Lighthouse, Dún Laoghaire on April 25th.
If you were lucky enough to catch their recent sold out gigs, supporting The Clockworks around the country or in the Button Factory for TiLT’s one’s to watch gig, playing in Whelans and a trip back home to play to a sold out Roisin Dubh then you know what we’re talking about..
London born frontman Callum Mitchell, guitars Colm Sweeney, Cillian Ryan, drums and bass Luke Mulliez and Jake Tiernan are all in their early 20s and are paving a way of revitalising punk in Ireland. Drawing influences from Bob Dylan, Pixies, Stone Roses and Girl band with lead singer Callum Mitchell being compared to Buzzcocks, Mike Skinner and Blur, they have formulated a unique sound that’s not to miss.
Entry is free on the night.
Doors open 7pm.
