  • Urban art, DJ's outdoors, food and fun all day.

Here we are... Round 4 of the Evolve Urban Art Phat Jam, a celebration of Irish based street art, graffiti and all things urban art. Paint on walls from some of the best street artists and writers from around the country and further afield. Every surface painted inside and street level with sweet vibes, eats, and tunes sound-tracking a great day. Sat Mar 28th

  • We're making it the least diddly-idle affair you can imagine, but we are making it a day full of Irish hip-hop and scratch DJ's including the man himself, Handsome Paddy. The fun starts at 12 so get your green finery at the ready.

  • We've been lucky to have the very talented man from San Fran, Mr. Mike Shine, in to do some paintings. He's a very well known artist who gave up his well paid job to travel the world painting his own creations. We're sure you've seen his 'boxer' design out front, now, onto the piano!

  • Last Saturday getting into the Shaw looked more like getting into Berghain, except our bouncers are a lot more sound.

  • Well how about that, in another step towards happy parents legitimacy, The Irish Times has just voted The Bernard Shaw as second best pizza in al the land. Honoured we are and chuffed for Olly and his hard working team of pizza engineers out the back of The Bernard Shaw on their 4 wheeled wonder. Thanks to everybody who sent in votes to The IT on our behalf, we'll be having a little party very soon to say thank you

11 - 12 South Richmond Street, Dublin 2
You can reserve tables and area in The Bernard Shaw 7 days a week, between 4 - 8pm, at no cost.

We have compiled a short list of 10 of the most asked questions from past bookings which will answer 95% of your queries.

Do you guys take bookings?
Yes indeed we do.  7 days a week, in the bar, beer garden or bus.  The latest we take bookings is 8pm as it is too hard to guarantee spaces after that if its busy.

Do I have to pay to book a table/space?
Nope, all areas are free to book however with The Big Blue Bus we ask that minimum 50% of any group orders food as the bus is essentially a restaurant.

Do you do food / platters
We do and you can see menus and group special costs for The Big Blue Bus here.  The Big Blue Bus kitchen is open 7 days a week from 5pm to midnight/1am.

What is the minimum/maximum amount of people I can book for?
Minimum 4, Max 50 (Big Blue Bus capacity is 35 seated)

What time do you close at?
Midnight from Sunday to Thursday, 1am on Friday and Saturday

What’s on tonight?
Lots, probably.  Check out our listings here

Do you have a private room?
No, we dont have a private function room.  We can reserve you an area within one of our spaces.

Can we run a tab?
Absolutely.  Just ask at the bar when you arrive.

The Bernard Shaw is Bodytonic’s first bar.  In existence since 1895, Bodytonic started a new chapter in 2006 and have tried to expand on what it means to be an Irish bar in the building ever since.

Incorporating a Top 100 Italian cafe, a pizza kitchen on a double decker bus, a huge beer garden, an exhibition space aswell as the multitude of music and creative shows, this deceptively small venue from the outside packs alot in.
The venue is open from 8am Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch with the bar open from 4pm for drinks and pizza.  Music is their first love with the venue hostings weekly nights covering all stops between reggae, dub, jazz, disco, house and general electronic noodlings.  Some of the guests that have played free shows in The BS include: Dam Funk, Dixon, DJ Yoda, Diplo, Theo Parrish, Optimo, DJ Spinna, James Pants, Taylor McFerrin, Motor City Drum Ensemble and lots more.
