MixMag 25 Year Poll Results

MixMag 25 Year Poll Results

Not that they would ever let you forget, but just a reminder to all that MixMag celebrated its 25 year anniversary last month with a special edition of the dance mag.

The monthly publication asked readers to vote on mixmag.net for their favourite tune, dance act, Dj and club of the past 25 years. The results are pretty unsurprising with Tiesto, Justice, The Prodigy and Fabric all making the top 10 of one of the four charts.

However the four victors are as follows,

Best Tune- Underworld “Born Slippy”

Best Dance Act- Daft Punk

Best Dj- Carl Cox

Best Club- Cream

I have no doubt that you all will want to voice your opinions on the decisions, leave a comment below telling who you think has been a pioneer in their field in the last quarter century.

Born Slippy- well it is a track that will get most people on the dance floor and it was the first dance track to appeal to both drinkers and ravers Who could resist "shouting larger larger lager, mega mega white thing, mega mega white thing"

Agree with Interstellar, of all the DJs who've been around since the beginning, Garnier is the only one who is still any use. Carl Cox?? jesus wept.

Eh,hello what about Jeff Mills. Was on the radio in detroit in 1985 as "the wizard"..inspired R Hawtin,Mike Banks,C Young,R Hood...etc Co-founded UR! Was djing in Tresor when it had barely opened! had many famous october residencies in Liquid Rooms including now legendary "live at the liquid rooms" mix cd! Made the bells in 1990 as a(get this)dj tool and finally released the now most iconic techno anthem in 1996. Scored many films including epic Metropolis. Did the amazing show in France with full Orchestra and had to go back to old tracks and rearrange them! Has been the pillar at Sonar festival every year without fail. And this year will be most remarkable performance with Mike Banks X-102 rediscovered. Has played a proven almost insane 200 gigs in 1 year....oh and almost forgot on the 30th of may he will dj as requested by the Rex Club in Paris the entire nite from start to finish.....Legend..no he walks among legends xo

Daft Punk was the only choice for best dance act, The don't gig enough, they don't release enough tunes but without them we'd never have bandytoaster... http://www.myspace.com/BandyToaster : )
