500,000 Bricks = The Biggest Lego Tower Ever
Lego celebrated its 50 year anniversary this week by constructing the highest Lego tower ever. The tower which stands over 100ft tall was built by Legoland visitors and comprises of over 500,000 bricks and resembles a Viking longboat mast.
The tower will enter the Guinness Book Of Records beating the previous record of a tower built in Toronto which stood at 96ft.
Over the bank holiday weekend, children leant their tower building skills by each fashioning an 8 inch section of the structure and then a crane hoisted it into position.
Event manager of the park, Penny Jenkins says, “We are thrilled to bring the world record to Legoland, after four days of hard work and not to mention 500,000 bricks, it now stands at over 100ft.
