Norman Cook...me something

Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim loves the food in his local Japanese eatery “Okinami” so much that he has gone into partnership with owner Mike Dodd to relocate the restaurant to Brighton.

Fatboy, who has been a customer at the restaurant for over 11 years, has not ruled out getting his hands dirty in the kitchen.

The Dj explains, “Jamie Oliver is a big mate of my wife Zoe so he has encouraged me a lot. I’m forever phoning him up if I don’t understand certain things”.

Cook explains how the birth of their son Woody has changed his partying ways and made him a bit of a novice in the kitchen. “Since my son Woody was born I’ve become a real foodie. I cook a pretty mean risotto. It’s a real labour of love, and there’s always plenty of homemade stock knocking about in my house. “

There is no official date for the restaurant opening yet but Okinami was named one of the top five sushi restaurants in England giving Fatboy a good head start.
