Pigs Do Fly
"Lost: One flying pig. It's huge, inflatable and may be wandering around the California desert"
A giant inflatable pig was safely recovered this week after it flew away during Roger Walters Coachella set in California.
Organisers of the festival were so desperate to retrieve the missing swine that they offered a $10,000 reward and four Coachella tickets for life.
The pig which measures as tall as a two storey house was tied to lines for Walters’s version of Pink Floyds “Pigs” and then it just floated away. “It wasn't really supposed to happen that way. I don't have the details," festival spokeswoman Marcee Rondan said.
The pig was subsequently found two days later by a couple who found pieces of the plastic carcass in tatters in their garden which was a few miles from the festival site.
Susan Stoltz explained how she found a plastic heap in her driveway on Monday, but didn’t know what it was until she read about the missing pig in the Desert Sun newspaper, “My kids are going to think I’m so cool” she said.
Producer of the festival Bill Ford has confirmed that the remains found are indeed the Coachella pig.
