Rhythmic Robots

We had the laptop orchestra now we've got the robot who conducts the orchestra.

On May 13th a humanoid robot will conduct the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The robot who was originally designed to assist the elderly in their homes and will now take to the stage to a sold out crowd of technology and music enthusiast's. The Asimo robot will conduct one song and deliver a life time achievement award on the night. The orchestra have to follow everything he does and all in sundry are interested to see whether he will have a different take on the song or stick to the notes rigidly. Wouldn't it be great if he completely remixes it and bangs it out techno style.

Even though music and technology have always gone hand in hand this could be the start of something completely different. In another 6 months with might even see Asimo playing a back to back set with Sasha. Stranger things have happened.
